The babies and I made it safely back home.  Let me tell you...traveling with two 16-month-olds alone is hard. I don't recommend it to anyone.  So we left "'fore-day." (That is one of my grandmother's sayings)  Basically we left at 4:30 am to get back home.  The trip home was very smooth until I had to go to the bathroom.

Well while I was gone my hubby told me he had a slight fender bender in our car.  This is the same car I wrecked a few months ago and the same car we just paid off!  This car just can't get a break.  Thankfully he did not hit anyone or injure anyone.  He was not injured either.  So we will see when we decide to fix this!

This young man serenaded us with "Happy Birthday" for my soon-to-be seven-year-old cousin.  The cousin who does all the artwork that I have showcased on here before.

Our Memorial Day was coming to an end so I picked Bob Evans for us to have breakfast and good times.  I enjoyed my time with my cousins and sister.

I couldn't come home and not go to Jungle Jim's!  I shopped in the cheese area for at least 15 minutes!

Part of our visit home was to attend a birthday party for our cousin.  Of course I got pictures of the party.  But I wanted to share this pic of Nana, my mom, getting loving from Buddy Boy.

The babies and I made it safely to my parents house.  A five hour trip turned into a seven hour trip.  But let me say, traveling with two 16 month old babies is no easy feat when you are traveling alone.  I don't recommend it to anyone.

But it is nice to be home. Home sweet home!

This picture is some more artwork from my little cousin back home.  It is a portrait of Buddy Boy and Baby Doll.  Doesn't it look just like them?

Well I took this picture because I am getting ready to drive home for the weekend and see my family and friends.  I am excited for my trip.

Did I click it up a notch?

I think so!

Here is my Buddy Boy on a swing for the first time in the park.  In the background is his twin sister Baby Doll having fun to.  Check this out here to read the original post for this picture.

"Reading is fundamental"
"The more you know, the more you grow."
"Thanks mom, sweet pickles"

I have tried to instill good reading habits with the babies.  Every night we read a few stories before going to bed.  And we go to the library for story time.  The babies really do enjoy books.  So I caught a picture of both of them reading their books.

I'm not in the mood for picture taking and blogging.  So here is a picture of rice.  I love rice so that is why I chose to take a picture of rice.

We were lucky to have another beautiful day.  So we drove downtown to the Magnificent Mile.  Of course I got my Garret Popcorn.  But I decided since I have showcased Garret Popcorn twice already, I would not take another picture of that sweet but tangy caramelly cheesy Chicago Mix popcorn.

Does anyone know how to get a 16 month old to drink this nasty stuff??!!!

I couldn't pick just one picture for today.  The weather was just absolutely beautiful today.  I took the babies to a park.  I think they really enjoyed swinging.  We stayed for about 30 minutes just swinging.

I am still in my black and white mood!

Also while at the park, I realized I need to work on learning Spanish.  The other little children at the park were Spanish speaking.  I think they have not realized who to speak Spanish to and who to speak English too.  I know the families were bilingual because the mothers spoke English to me.  But the little kids looked at me innocently and said "Hola".  I responded "Hola".  Then he started to have a conversation with me an say "Como se llama?"  I surprised myself and was able to respond "Robyn"

I think along with working on photography, I am going to work on my Spanish too.

Today I had plans of getting laundry done and straightening up while the babies napped.  But instead I laid right here on the couch and got me a much needed nap.  I didn't wash, fold, clean, sweep, mop, or cook.  And I feel good about it.  Tomorrow I will get back to my mom duties!  I took a personal day off work today.

Today Buddy Boy and Baby Doll told me they wanted to dress up today.  So I got out their Sunday best and let them play dress up today.  Well they really didn't tell me they wanted to dress up.  I just wanted to have a reason to put dress up clothes on.

So I told my sister, Dwana, that they were dressed up.  So she asked me to take pictures and send to her.  So I thought I would sit both of them on the couch and get a few pictures.  NOT!  I see why I don't have pictures of them together at this age.  So this picture is for you Dwana!

Today was spent at home with the family.  It was a nice relaxing day at home.  I just wish the weather would get back warm because I miss taking walks with the babies.  Really, what's up with this bipolar ass weather?!

The babies called their Mimi (grandmother) this evening.  My hubby is holding his phone on speaker while Baby Doll talks to her Mimi.    The babies love and miss their Mimi.

Make sure you notice the new hairdo Baby Doll has.  Mommy is getting good at braiding!

After I found out I was having twins, I wanted to have two girls.  I wanted to have two mini-me's.  But God had something else planned for me.  He knew what he was doing when blessing me with a boy and a girl.

I think now, if I had two girls how much harder it would be.  I am thinking of how much easier it is to dress and comb Buddy Boy's hair versus Baby Doll.  Today I decided I would try to teach myself how to braid Baby Doll's hair.  After working with her hair, I am grateful to only have one daughter!

So we sat down in front of the TV so I could practice braiding.  She sat down willingly and watched TV.  She was watching Wheel of Fortune.  For some reason she found it interesting and sat still to let me practice.  So here is a picture of one of the best braids I did.  I think for a first attempt I did OK.

Practice makes perfect.  That is what I tell myself about photography too.

Since moving I have met a few people and I am starting to build my network of friends in my new "home" town.  Since I am not working, I mainly meet other mothers.  So I have met other mother's of twins through a support group for mother's of multiples.  Meeting these other mom's has been very helpful to my transition away from home.

Today I met up with a mother and her 15 month old twins for a play date.  We met at the mall and let the kids play in the play area.  Let me tell, watching two babies run around in a play area with two openings is very hard.  Lets just say I got my work out trying to keep the babies from escaping.

I was able to get a few pictures of the babies playing in the area.

Not too much to say today. Its a beautiful day.  We were able to get out and enjoy the day.  Baby Doll even took the time to model her new sandals for me too!

For some reason I am in a black and white mood and my last few pictures have been in black and white.

Polly showed up today for a visit.  If you don't know who Polly is be sure to read this.  So I took my frozen bananas and baked banana bread from scratch.  It was so good too.  And the babies enjoyed it as well.

So I got up this morning and looked up some recipes for banana bread and all of them said I needed 2 cups of flour.  I measured out the flour and I only had 1 3/4 cups of flour.  So I got the babies ready so we could walk to the store.  Then laziness set in.  I didn't feel like walking.  It was hot and I was already sweating because I was too cheap to turn the AC on.  So I went back searching for recipes that used less than 2 cups of flour.  I know.  That's lazy at its best.  So I found this recipe thanks to Emeril.  Of course I made a few changes. I used butter, added cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla.  And I got rid of the nuts.

I wonder what Polly will bake next time!

About a week ago I told you the story of Buddy Boy needing some new shoes.  Well I just got around to getting a picture of his shoes.  And in the picture I got his lunch...on the floor.  He thinks that when he is full he is to throw all remaining food left on his tray on the floor.  I guess that is what I get for walking away to get on facebook and not watching him.

I think spring is finally here.  Yesterday was nice and today was nice.  I was actually able to take the babies out in the backyard to play for a bit.

I noticed a patch of clovers.  At least I think those are three-leafed clovers.  I was hoping to be lucky and find a four-leafed clover.  I guess today is not my lucky day.

Happy Mother's Day!

Today has been a good day for me.  My hubby and kids treat me good every day but today was an exceptionally good day.  We went out for breakfast, drove around, walked to the store and relaxed at home.  I'd say that was a good day.  And we had beautiful weather too.

My children and hubby blessed me with a generous gift card to Spa Bleu.  So one day in the future I get to get a little me time and get some pampering.  I can't wait.  I think I am going to get the massage and facial package.  I can't wait.

When do children learn to clean up?  Today, Buddy Boy and Baby Doll took every toy they own and spread them out along the floor.  I think what I may do is only set 6 toys out a day.  I will rotate the toys so they don't get bored with the toys.  We'll see how that works!

I need to apologize to my faithful readers.  I know that there is a handful of people who actually take the time to read this blog on a daily.  I have been lazy and not been posting daily and trying to play catch up.  Along with the laziness is a lack of motivation.  Some days I just don't want to take a picture.  Its not that I don't like taking pictures...its just I am unmotivated right now.

Due to this state of unmotivation my pictures have not been up to par.  I think that is why I don't want to post them.  I actually don't like a lot of them.  But I am determined to finish this project.

So with that said, here is today's picture.

Baby Doll has been rockin an afro all week.  I say I want to give her hair a break from being pulled into pony tails.  But now that I think about it...I am not motivated.

In honor of Cinco de Mayo, I cooked chicken nachos for dinner.  Its simple to make.  All you need is chicken breast, taco seasoning, salsa, tortilla chips and cheese.  Cook the chicken until there is no pink.  Shred the chicken.  Add the taco seasoning according to the package.  Then place a layer of tortilla chips on a plate, chicken, salsa then cheese.  Put it in the microwave to melt the cheese.

I told you it was simple.

The weather was some what decent today.  The babies and I went out to enjoy a nice quiet evening walk.  Just the 3 of us.  So I had this bright idea of taking my camera and getting pictures.  Well the babies were not to crazy about me taking pictures.  Every time I stopped to get a picture they whined.  They did not want me to stop pushing the stroller.

So we walked to the lake and I feel I got a decent shot.  They actually cooperated while I took pictures of the lake.  I think they were fascinated by the ducks.  And before you ask...yes I know they were geese.  But ducks is easier for the babies to say!  So we practice saying "duck" and "quack quack."  I think Baby Doll said duck a few times.

I am fed up with this weather, but what else is new?

I am running out of ideas of pictures to take.
We went to toddler gym.
I made use of my crock pot today.
I need a vacay.
I want to do something different to my hair.
Buddy Boys shoes came in the mail.
I actually ironed the babies' clothes when they came out the dryer. (Just call me Polly.)
I am addicted to Cityville.
I want to learn how to braid my daughter's hair.
I need to lose some weight.

Call me crazy.

I went grocery shopping again with the babies.  Actually I don't mind.  I feel that they don't get to go out as much as singletons.  The teacher in me likes to take them because I see it as a way to build vocabulary.

Speaking of building vocabulary...when I got the bananas, I said to the babies, "Banana."  Buddy Boy replied "nana."  So going to the grocery to the store is beneficial.

As of now Buddy boy can say: banana, night night, dada, mama.  Baby Doll can say: mama, dada, aaawww, yea and eye.  Both babies know how to use sign language to say "all done."

I am not an extreme couponer but I do cut coupons.  I watch that show and those people are one step away from being on "Hoarders."  Think about it.  Do you really need 100 tubes of toothpaste even if they are all free?  No.  Even if you are the Duggars you don't need 100 tubes of toothpaste at once.  My thoughts are the money spent on buying 10 Sunday newspapers and the shelving units comes from the savings they get at the checkout.

I will admit I do get a rush when I see how much I saved.  I do like a bargain or a deal.  But not to the extent of the people on these shows.  Another thing I noticed it the carts are full of processed boxed foods and I don't see a lot of fresh fruits, vegetables and meats.

I will clip my coupons but just not be excessive about it.
